Track The Movement FALL 2020

Community Living Ontario is excited to introduce you to the members of the 2020-21 Youth Advisory Council. The Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is a provincial body of youth from across the province that informs the work of Re:Action4Inclusion. This committed team provides recommendations about the experience of youth across the province. The council is led by youth with and without a disability and works to increase opportunities that support young community builders to break down barriers to inclusion.

THIS FALL

Launching in September, youth across Ontario will be sparking a conversation on community through a social media campaign. The YAC will be the frontrunners of a month-long social media initiative that will raise awareness about the importance of an inclusive and quality education for all. The YAC want to encourage their adult allies and leverage their support to promote inclusion and community in Ontario schools, inside and outside the classroom.

Later on in the year, the council also has plans to share information on employment by encouraging inclusive hiring practices and building strong job networks for youth. This incredible group is passionate about exercising leadership in community building, keeping their peers informed and strengthening unity to celebrate diversity in Canada.

The collective voices of the Re:Action4Inclusion movement, led by the YAC, is creating momentum for long-lasting change in communities across Ontario! If you are keen to join the movement, follow the campaign on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
